How to approach a DAWLESS Improvised Techno Set

I had my friend and artist Stereo_IMG (Pat Haggart) in studio to break down his DAWLESS, live techno approach.

What absolutely blew me away is that, with this live set up in particular, Pat can perform hour + long sets improvising everything 100% from scratch 🤯

Alternatively, something that's been a hot topic for a while now in the online synth community, is this notion of whether or not the newest synth gear actually works to your advantage, or is better / more efficient than older gear. This video is a perfect example of how whatever live set up you've built reflexes on is what will serve you best. Pat's using multiple Elektron units that aren't even being issued anymore.
